Acceptance in Church

Being someone whose family doesn't go to church but someone who attended catholic school throughout my primary education, I had a fixed mindset of what church was going to be like. I expected it to be boring and dull, but I was wrong. Ebenezer Baptist Church is the most energized church I have ever been in. The people were so welcoming and friendly. I felt like I was part of a community, accepted by people who didn't even know me. I wasn’t judged. Instead, I was welcomed. Now I understand why the church was such a big part of the Civil Rights Movement. The church was a family environment, one to grow, play and learn in. The church was a place for acceptance.
